Recently, I spoke at a teacher’s conference in Cambodia, in the bustling city of Phnom Penh. The theme of the conference was fabulous: “Teachers: More Valuable Than Gold”. What a powerful statement and one that I wholeheartedly agree with. Many Cambodian school teachers attended the conference, and most of them have less that 12 months training. In addition, their average class sizes range from 50-80 students!
Yet even with a significant lack of adequate training and incredibly huge classes, these teachers learned about how valuable they were. I spoke to many teachers of the incredible impact they can have and encouraged them that are truly more valuable than gold.
This week’s assignment:
Today, remind yourself and your fellow teacher colleagues just how valuable you how and how much of a difference you can make in the lives of your students.
Teachers: you REALLY are more valuable than gold.
Enjoy the journey,
And more importantly,
Enjoy the moments.
