Megan Dredge - Behind The Scenes On A 747-400

I am writing this as I sit on a flight bound for Singapore. My seat is located right near the galley where for the last 50 minutes the flight attendants have been getting the meals ready for the plane. I have never seen so much hustle and bustle in order to make the eating experience on a plane so enjoyable. The curtain keeps sliding back and forth, the staff are in and out, doors are opening and closing – it is busy yet inspiring. I have a fresh appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes in order for me to enjoy my refreshments and meal.

Teaching is so much like this. Often is it what goes on prior to a lesson, behind the scenes, that makes the lesson so enjoyable and effective. Without appropriate and diligent behind-the-scenes effort, out lessons won’t achieve our desired outcomes.

This week’s assignment:

Take a few extra moments to make a behind-the-scenes effort for your lessons. Prepare to really achieve your outcomes and watch your students respond. Your effort will pay off.

Enjoy the journey,

And more importantly,

Enjoy the moments.

🙂
